iPhone might exclude its notch in the next-generation lineup. Rumors suggest Apple is testing new prototypes of Face ID. Some of the prototypes are small enough to be fit in the top bezel. iPhone 12 might be the first phone to come without the notch.
According to the rumors, Apple is trying different lenses, which can potentially make the notch significantly smaller or might fit in the bezel. Face ID is anticipated to be smarter, faster, and efficient; as a result, it can scan from a greater angle. iPhone 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max will come notch-less while the successor of the iPhone 11 will have a notch for cost-cutting. But the big news is iPhone 12 might give up the LCD screen and opt for OLED, just like Pro and Pro Max.
Since its inception, notch always got criticism from the majority of the audiences. As a result, most people did not upgrade from their older versions, such as iPhone 7, iPhone SE, iPhone 8, etc. For those who want a compact iPhone with the Steve Jobs design, Apple is going to launch iPhone SE 2 in quarter one of 2020. The production is expected to start in January next year.
