University enrollments have fallen, in part due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a new study shows.
The report from the National Student Clearinghouse Research Center said student enrollment across the country in the fall of 2021 fell 3.2% from the same time last year and 6.5% from two years ago.
However, fall graduate enrollment is up 2.1% from last year and 5.3% over two years.
“Autumn enrollments show no signs of recovering from last year’s declines,” the report said. “We see that student enrollment continues to fall.”
The National Student Clearinghouse Research Center said about 50% of colleges and universities and 8.4 million students across the country responded to the survey.
