AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — American Red Cross officials are encouraging Amarillo residents to stay safe during several Halloween activities this year, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and as more people participate in activities.

“Halloween is one of the most popular holidays in the U.S. and as most communities return to normal activities this school year, people should expect an increased number of visitors looking for tricks and treats,” Kiley Murray, the executive director of the American Red Cross serving the Texas Panhandle, said in a press release. “Whether you’re handing out treats or going door-to-door, with just a few simple considerations, you can keep your family and those around you safe.”
