Tennessee Titans put backup QB Woodside on Reserve/COVID-19 list
Woodside is the second Titan to be placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list since Monday, alongside linebacker/special teamer Joe Jones.
A player can be placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list for a positive test regardless of vaccination status or if in close contact with an infected person or persons as an unvaccinated person.
Woodside’s vaccination status is unclear. If vaccinated, he could return to the active roster with two negative tests in the space of 48 hours, which should give him the chance to return to backup starter Ryan Tannehill on Sunday, when the Titans (8-3) the New England Patriots play (7-4) at Gillette Stadium (afternoon CT, CBS).
If Woodside tested positive and is not vaccinated, he must be quarantined for at least 10 days.
The practice squad quarterback, Kevin Hogan, an uneducated rookie from Stanford, is currently slated to be the Titans’ backup quarterback for Week 12.
