Global markets slump on concerns over new Covid-19 variant

Global stock markets and US stock futures fell after South Africa raised the alarm about a new, rapidly spreading strain of the coronavirus, raising concerns about the potential for new travel restrictions or other restrictions that could limit economic activity.
