Lady Lake detective tracks down COVID-19 masked suspect who sold car with fraudulent VIN
A Lady Lake detective has tracked down a masked COVID-19 suspect who sold a car with a fraudulent vehicle identification number.
The suspect was wearing a “distinctive” white baseball cap and face mask when he was caught watching surveillance video at Sunoco station on US Hwy last year. 27/441 at Lady Lake. The vehicle buyer was able to identify the suspect as 35-year-old Joel Nolasco of Kissimmee, thanks in part to a comparison with an Osceola County Jail booking photo, according to an affidavit of probable cause of death. Nolasco was booked into the Lake County Jail on Tuesday on charges of fraud and dealing in stolen goods. Bond was set at $12,000.
