Lake Charles, LA (KPLC) – The Louisiana Department of Health releases COVID updates Monday through Friday at noon.

The Louisiana Department of Health said it will not update parish and regional case data as of Jan. 13, 2022. It said data on parishes and regional cases will be updated as soon as possible.

According to the LDH, those who were not fully vaccinated accounted for 65% of the cases from December 30 to January 5 and 66% of deaths from December 30 to January 5.

COVID-19 IN LOUISIANA

· 14,932 new cases.

· 11 new deaths.

· 2,081 patients hospitalized (82 more than Wednesday’s update).

· 75% of current COVID hospitalizations are those that are not fully vaccinated.

· 50.60 percent of the population vaccinated.

All regional and parish data has not been updated since Tuesday 11 January. Vaccination data has been updated with the latest update from LDH.

· 40.29 percent of the population vaccinated.

· 29.17 percent of the population vaccinated.

BEAUREGARD (REGION 5)

· 32.53 percent of the population vaccinated.

CAMERON (REGION 5)

· 32.75 percent of the population vaccinated.

JEFF DAVIS (REGION 5)

· 39.56 percent of the population vaccinated.

VERNON (REGION 6)

· 33.07 percent of the population vaccinated.

· 135 active cases among detainees.

· 9 active cases among employees.
