The Biden Administration Announced On Friday, Americans will have the opportunity to order free COVID-19 tests at home from Wednesday, January 19.
The news: Families can order up to four at-home COVID-19 tests per household, according to the Biden administration.
- “These are different from lab tests, also known as PCR tests. They are looking for viral genetic material, but it can take up to three days for the results to be returned.” ABC news reports,
How to order: You can visit COVIDTests.gov for the free tests.
- The Biden administration said it will add a new phone number for those without internet to order the tests.
- The tests are shipped within seven to 12 days from the day you order.
The other side: Starting Saturday, Americans can get COVID-19 tests at home free through their private insurance, CNN reports. Once you get the tests from pharmacies or retailers, you can charge these costs to your insurance company and they will reimburse you.
