(KNSI) — CentraCare Health will stop testing for COVID-19 for anyone who is asymptomatic. CentraCare officials say the reason is low test supplies and high demand. The test policy is effective immediately.
This break from asymptomatic testing includes getting a return to work test, daycare testing, pre-travel, event testing, and COVID-19 confirmation testing “delivered good” repeat testers.
CentraCare encourages asymptomatic testing at a community site or a home COVID-19 test.
For people known to have been exposed to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, CentraCare says they must follow quarantine guidelines and strictly wear a mask for the entire 10 days. If symptoms develop, a test may be scheduled.
CentraCare Health says those eligible for a CentraCare/Carris Health COVID test are people experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, long-term care patients and pre-procedure testing.
We hope this testing break will be temporary and ask for your continued help in stopping the spread of COVID-19 by wearing a mask, getting vaccinated, social distancing and washing your hands.
