CARSON CITY —
Today, Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak announced that more than half a million rapid at-home COVID-19 tests are on their way to the state of Nevada and will be available to people in needy communities.
“Due to this increase due to the Omicron variant, we have seen a corresponding increase in demand for COVID-19 tests. I’ve worked with the state-level team to ensure we’re doing everything we can to meet this testing demand and build a more sustainable test model,” Governor Sisolak said at a press conference:. “Last week, the state completed an order for more than half a million rapid COVID-19 tests to take home. The order is covered by federal COVID aid funding. I have requested that the shipment and delivery of these tests be made as soon as possible to meet the current need.”
The state has ordered a total of 588,216 Flexflow COVID-19 Antigen home tests that are expected to arrive by the end of the month, and the first deliveries will be made directly to community partners who will ensure the tests reach Nevada residents as soon as possible. .
