NFL COVID-19 List: Which Players Are on the COVID-19 IR List ahead of the Wild Card Round

the 2022 NFL Playoffs kick off Saturday afternoon and after a wild last few months of the season, it looks like the NFL has gotten out of its COVID-19 troubles. That’s not to say the staff won’t test positive for the coronavirus, but the league has changed protocols enough to get to a point where they’re getting players back on the field faster than before.

In the final two months of the regular season, teams regularly faced COVID-19 outbreaks costing them a significant number of players. The league and players first modified the testing process so that vaccinated players can return sooner if they are asymptomatic. When the CDC changed its guidelines from ten days of quarantine to five for all asymptomatic people, the league and players changed too. That has resulted in fewer players spending a lot of time on the list.

Heading into Wild Card weekend, seven players are on the reserve/COVID-19 playoff team list. Considering that Washington had nearly that many players from their defenses on the COVID-19 list at one point, that’s saying something. The most notable name is Patriots starting cornerback Jalen Mills.
