Carol Parks is the chief administrator of the YMCA of the Suncoast. She told 8 On Your Side that these sites will remain open for at least two months as demand continues in Tampa Bay.
“We had requests from member staff asking where they could get a test that we had previously provided for people, so I think that’s why they asked if they could get a test here,” she said.
Gabi Williams is the senior district manager of Grapefruit Testing and directs the testing activities of the YMCA. She said she expects high volumes and is asking people to pre-register.
“We don’t want to gather big lines,” Williams said. “We don’t want clusters. Our job is to get you in and out, which is why we have several staff on hand.”
Williams recently said Grapefruit Testing was in a location where it performed more than 2,000 tests in a single day. She said her team has the capacity to handle that at the YMCA locations.
