Governor Lamont announces that the state of Connecticut has distributed 3.1 million COVID-19 self-tests in the past two weeks

(HARTFORD, CT) — Governor Ned Lamont announced today that the state of Connecticut has distributed a total of 3.1 million COVID-19 self-tests in the past two weeks, about 1 million of them in the past two days alone.

Since December 31, 2021 the state has provided the following amounts:

Governor Lamont said thatHis government expects to receive deliveries of thousands more of the tests it has ordered in the coming days, and the state will continue to distribute them as they arrive in Connecticut.

“We have so many partners working together to obtain, deliver and distribute these self-tests, and I couldn’t be more grateful to all the groups involved for working together and getting these to the people of Connecticut as quickly as possible,” Governor Lamont said:. “I’m confident Connecticut currently has one of the largest self-test distributions of any state in the Northeast, and I appreciate everyone’s concerted efforts.”

State distribution of the tests is overseen by the Department of Health, the Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection, the Department of Administrative Services and the Connecticut National Guard. In addition, the State Department of Education, Office of Early Childhood, Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services, Department of Developmental Services, Department of Children and Families, Department of Veterans Affairs, and Department of Housing have provided support for the distribution of tests to the communities serving each of those respective government agencies.
