Informations Plan Le Palais Rusca a été construit en 1775, et destiné à abriter la garnison de la ville. Il est resté une caserne militaire jusqu'en 1990, c'est aujourd'hui le Tribunal d'Instance de Nice. La Tour de l'Horloge fut le symbole du pouvoir communal sécularisé capable de distribuer le temps à l'égal du pouvoir religieux.

Stop here for a moment. On your left is the Palais Rusca. It was built in 1776 as barracks for a city garrison that could hold up to 725 men. It continued to be used as a barracks until 1990 when it became an annex of the Palais de Justice courts. It still functions as a courthouse. Continue through the passage to the square ahead.

Depuis la destruction du château de Nice, les militaires sont cantonnés en ville dans la caserne Saint Dominique , actuel Palais Rusca construit entre 1775 et 1776 sur les plans de Philippe Nicolas de Robilante et pouvait accueillir 752soldats .Délocalisés entre 1886 et 1888 dans la campagne niçoise, les militaires dans les casernes de Riquier ( Saint- jean d'Angély) et celle de St Roch.

The courthouse was built in neo-classical style in the late nineteenth century. The Court took residence in the Caserne Annex Rusca, former barracks along the square. Between the two buildings is a beautiful pedestrian square which is excellent for walks. Walk between the Port and the Place Massena, lasts about two hours, apart from the time to visit the churches and the Palais Lascaris.
