Herrick Lake Forest Preserve is a really nice option for some kayaking and hiking. In addition to kayaks, they also rent canoes and rowboats. There were lots of people hiking, bike riding, and fishing while we were there. The lake is not very large but there is a scenic bridge over a trail that leads to another small section of the lake.

One of my favorite spots to take advantage of all that this Forest Preserve has to offer. Beautiful in the fall with the mature tree's, check out the walking trails around this time. A good place to bring your dog and clean restrooms on site.
